Hi, I recently bought a DirecTv HR20 equipment and I have two questions:

1) If I only want to connect one receiver, Do I need the multiswitch? or I only run 2 cables from the antenna to the receiver?

2) Does the access card is the one on the photo? I ask this because I havenīt seen this type of access card....I have seen the white one with the D* logo in blue.

Thank you for your answers.

Regards

p.s. Sorry about the camera focus!

Welcome!

You should use the access card that came with your equipment. If you bought this receiver secondhand or through another channel, you might need to call DIRECTV and have them send you out a new one. A secondhand access card probably won't work for long, and one designed for another receiver might not work at all.

If you are only connecting one receiver (HR20) you will need two lines from the dish, no multiswitch. You will need the 5-LNB dish, either the AT9 (old style with two LNB heads) or the AU9 "slimline".

The access card in the photo you provided, is the latest generation of Access card... So it is correct

Thank you for your answers! Now I will try to install the slimline dish and activate the equipment.

Thanks a lot! Have an excellent day!

That is the same access card that came with my 3rd HR20 this morning. It is amazing how last week i got an HR20 with the directv logo acecss card and then today I got the one above. I think it is pretty cool.
