Keep Until I Delete for Series

I am new to the HR20(100s), having upgraded from the Directv w/Tivo DVR. I would like to set up a couple of series recordings where it will only record 5 shows and keep them until I delete them, and not record any new shows until I watch one from the list. I have a couple of programs I did this for on my older DirecTivo, but its not working the same on the new unit. When I set up the series recording, I tell it to Keep Until I Delete and select a number of recordings I wish to keep but, so far, it just records all the showings as they air.

Is there another way to do this, or is the functionality just not there yet?

It sounds like you've done everything right. That function should work. Does it work for some series links and not others? If you look at the recording options, does it list the number of episodes to keep correctly?

This is the first I've heard of this being a problem.

The HR20 saves the LAST X shows. You want it to save the FIRST X shows?

The only way I know to do this with the HR20 is to not set a limited number. If you set a number limit X, it will retain the last X shows.

And then consider an eSATA drive...

What I want is to record X shows and not record any more until I delete the recorded programs from the list. Its a useful feature for older series (such as Everybody Loves Raymond) where I never viewed the program when it was on the major networks but now that another network is airing it I can catch up. On occasion, the network will air a marathon or something similar, and the dvr will be recording episodes back to back without me never having a chance to view the recordings. I would like to be able to stop it from recording once it reaches my preset limit.

There is no way to do that on a DVR+ series unit.
