D* is here right now installing the fourth line from my dish that the original installer conveniently forgot.

He actually dropped in a Zinwell WB68 too so I don't have to call them out if I want to hook up another box.

I am amazingly satisfied! :D

Ah, good for you. My install from this past Monday, while initially good, is now bad. The doofus left me high and dry after promising to send a guy to run my second line for the DVR. Worse, he did not activate the DVR, AND, he subscribed me to Showtime. They have not returned repeated calls, either.

Yikes...

I guess it might help that this guy is an actual D* installer, not a sub. When he looked at the state of the initial install he said to me "Your last installer was a Sub wasn't he?" and he got right to fixing it.

Mastec? If so go on the website and call Gus Rey. He is the VP for the area.

I work for a sister company and I had to use him for my "nightmare" install last year. Once I got him involved it was handled quickly. Good luck.

I wouldn't term my particular install a nightmare, and my attic is very tight, but sheesh, I'd like a fully functioning DVR, or at least a call back.

That was my issue with the original install. The installer only ran one additional line to support the HR20 he was installing so that left the second tuner of my R10 empty. Why would it have been so hard to run two additional lines? He was up there already.

The tech just left and everything is peachy, I'm getting signal strengths of 94-100% on all sats.

The one I have seen..over and over...

The HSP guy has "no recorders left." So he installs a standard receiver. Then he tells the customer someone else will be back with a recorder and will run the second line. Well the first line is already in the wall..the second line will come through a window or out of the floor. And whoever does it will NOT be paid for the work.

*******s!

I've had to go behind both HSP techs (fyi, although an hsp tech drives a van with D* graphics on the side, he's not a D* employee) and subs to fix bad installs. You just got lucky that the last tech seemed to have a little pride in what he does.
