I USE A DISH 4000 RECIEVER AND ON LIVE SPORTS (NETWORK) telecasts i get dropouts periodically, will dropout signal(go to black) and return to live,in short bursts. this only happens on networks during lets SAY FOOTBALL (NFL). ANY OTHER NETWORK BROADCASTS ARE NORMAL. HAS ANY ONE ON DISH EXPEIENCED THIS?? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY EXPLANATIONS OR GUESSES. NO OTHER PROGRAMS DROP OUT LIKE THIS. THANKS!

Power off the reciever and unplug. Remove the smart card. replace and power up. This cured my 4000 from it's drop outs.

You said network, so is it JUST your locals? See what your signal strength is and maybe run a check switch if rebooting (gpflepsen's instructions) don't work. I had a flaky connection to my 110 LNBF that would do that.

It's not a typo, it's etiquette. Caps lock is the equivalent of YELLING.

Yeah, what Darrell said. And if this were grammar school, I'd nitpick your inappropriate use of a preposition (among other things) in your signature :p
Only if one chooses to interpret it that way. No way to treat a newbie, IMHO.
I operated an 'all caps' TTY in Korea and never even considered that anyone was YELLING at me. Now the Lt., he knew how to yell at me. :)

And you had the pleasure of using the REAL RTTY equipment, too. Now all we have is a piece of software and interface cable *sigh*
TopCat, your presence on this board is a real asset to the troops in the trenches.
Yeah, I kinda miss the rythmic clackety-clack of the old TTY machines. Txing was more like playing an old honky-tonk piano with gusto.
