I currently have the following
811 Receiver - (for over two years)
AT100 and the OLD HD Pack
No Locals
Phone line connected - My Current Bill is: $39.98 per month.
I would like to upgrade to a HD-DVR receiver and keep my upgrade and monthly bill as low as possible. I'm looking at the following.
622 Receiver
AT100 - $29.99
New HD - $20
DVR Fee - $5.98
Total Per Month - $55.97
I thought you could get locals for $5 per month but on the Dish Website AT100 Plus Locals is $39.99 which would put my total with locals up to: $65.97
1. Will I also have to pay a lease fee on a 622 receiver and if so how much is it?
2. What will it cost me upfront including any installation fees to upgrade to a 622?
3. As an existing customer with no recent upgrades, what are the promotions and rebates I'm eligible for? How long are these available?
4. Is the 722 be available to me for the same upgrade charges? If not how long will I have to wait to get a similar deal on a 722?
5. Any advantage for an existing customer to upgrade through a dealer instead of directly though Dish?
Thanks for any and all advice.

IF I were you I would upgrade to the dvr advantage pack for the top 100 for 39.99 + 20.00 for hd = 59.99. (starting on the 15 it is available) It includes your locals and the dvr fee so you save $3.98 a month doing this over the traditional way.
IF you upgrade today I believe it would only cost you around 49.00 to have a 622 installed . But it ends today. The best thing to do is call DISH right now and ask them about the upgrade and see what they tell you. Also ask them what the new upgrades to the 722 tomorrow will be and make the decision.

Does the DVR Advantage drop $10 in price on the 15th? Currently Dish is showing $49.95 for DVR Advantage on their website.
Thanks.
For the next several HOURS, DISH continues to offer $10/month off for first time DishHD subscribers. That is a $10/month rebate for 10 months. AFAIK, that goes poof at midnight. I BELIEVE that it will be replaced by 6 months of free DishHD w/o waiting for a rebate. The $100 DIU equipment rebate for the 622 also expires at midnight. What will be in its place at 12:01 is a screwed up website, but by morning we should have a better idea??? Each sub will probably have to check what is available to THEM, because the offers won't be the same for everybody.
The quote of $39.99 for AT100 PLUS locals should emphasize PLUS as it includes $5 for the RSN. Regular AT100 is $29.99 and locals ARE $5 for $34.99 when paid monthly. Local subscription will be pretty important to record network stuff on the DVR!!

The $39.99 is for the new AT-100 DVR Advantage which includes locals and one DRV fee.
AT100 plus locals is still $34.99.
Then there's AT-100+ Plus locals which is another $5, also $39.99.
Or you could get AT100+ DVR Advantage at, I believe $44.99, ad nauseum.
But I could be wrong??
If I go through DishBUILDER today as a new sub, the DishDVR Advantage w/ AT100 is $36.99 (same $3.98 saving) and the price is good through Jan '09.
The bad new for a new sub would be that both the $10/month offers are gone and replaced only with free DishHD for 6 months (but ONLY with the 18 month commit). Where I used to see 18 months of DHPP credits for the commit, it lists 12 months now. The link for Terms & Conditions points to the out of date 18 months free DHPP.
There is also no 3 months of a free Premium movie channel for a new sub.
Most of that wouldn't apply to Offroad as an existing customer upgrade, but I'd think the $36.99 DishDVR Advantage would. The DISH'n It Up rebate did NOT disappear, but the $10/month rebates for a new sub and new DishHD sub did. $10/month for 10 months available for some internationals / Latino though. http://www.dishnetwork.com/redirects/promotion/offer4/index.shtml
EDIT - DishBUILDER is just wrong. Replace my $36.99 with the $39.99 quoted price - it is the correct price according to the CSR I called (trying to switch to that AT100 DDA). No info available from him on 722 or in My Account, Equipment Info yet either.

Called Dish today about upgrading from my 811 to the 722.
They want $199 up front.
I can get a $100 rebate back but no promotion at all on the HD, so net cost to me is $100 with no break on programming costs to offset the upgrade.
I realize the 722 is new but I've been a customer for along time now and never used Dish-n-it-up before so you'd think I would be entitled to a better upgrade.
I'll check back with them later, but if this is the best they can do I think I'll wait for something better.

Like wireless companies they treat existing good customers like crap. You'd better off get a deal from the other vendor and come back to get a deal once that promotion runs out. I have been switching between AT&T and T-Moble every year and I always get a great new phone for free.
