According to reports from William Kidd, satellite analyst with The Lehman Brothers, the Series 2 DirecTV/TiVo combo set-top box, named DirecTV DVR, should be available to consumer electronics retailers later this quarter, though it's unclear whether they will be in time (in sufficient quantity) for the holiday selling season.
However, TiVo announced the availability of its products to all Circuit City stores nationwide. The agreement with the big chain retailer ensures TiVo products will be widely available to consumers well in advance of the holiday shopping season.
