Hello all. I'm new to this forum and am a long time DirecTiVo user and TCF member.

I just received a refurb R15-100 yesterday from DTV as a free ($19.95 S&H) replacement for my dying R10. The manufacture date says July 2006. I plan to hook it up this weekend. This is my first non-TiVo DVR and I am sure there will be a learning curve.

Can anyone tell me what the current software version is and if & how I can force an update if mine is not current?

Oh, and can someone point me to a software version history with release notes so I can see the history of fixes/enhancements?

1) Off the top of my head, I can't recall the current version...
2) There is an update rolling out, but since you just activated, you will probably be at the end of the list
3) No, you can't force it

Thanks Earl. I hate to part with my HR10-250, but really would like to be able to receive and record all the new HD channels D* is coming out with soon. So, I decided to go back and read your review on the HR20-700. I am crossing my fingers that the R-15 transition will go smooth enough to make us switch.
