Will the remaining locals (currently on 61.5 slot) be put to either 110 or 119. Don't feel like putting up a second dish to see the other channels. Or will the current batch of locals be left on Conus beams?

As soon as the rest of the country is moved. Bay Parkway and 86th St isn't the center of the universe (Cropsey and Bay 50th is) ;)

Doubt the will announce anything until they are ready???

DISH has not revealed its plans in this area. I think many of us thought they would move the locals away from the side slots but, as far as I know, they have made no such commitment.

Now if the FCC rulkes against them that may change things. But some of us might wind up with ALL locals on the side sats.

Echostar appears to be going the route of less popular channels on side slots. I doubt they would change it without being forced to by the FCC. For example NYC has 8 channels on the wing, that is the number of stations that a smaller market has in total. E* will make more money adding another market than it costs to do the second dish solution for those that ask for it.

Right now the FCC Media Bureau ruled that it is ok to have wing slots for some stations if certain guidelines are met. Dish has been working to meet them.

I figure my Atlanta locals with only ONE channel on 61.5 (although I expect their should be 3 total) would be more effective moving to 110/119. But I guess the real issue would be # of already converted to 61.5. If 75% of the people with atlanta locals got their extra dish, then moving it would only benefit X many people. There may be some cities where there are many subs, but few went for extra dish and there are few channels on the wings, those would be the most cost effective. It's the NEW MATH kids :D
