HR20 requiered for Superfan extras?

I can't seem to find this answer anywhere here so forgive me if it's been covered a billion times.

I'm going to be a new subscriber for DTV and I'm going with their NFL ST and SF package deal, but one thing I can't decifer is whether or not the HD-DVR is required for the special Superfan goodies like showing 8 games at once.

Can I get these features with JUST the HD receiver and not the DVR?

yes you can - the DVR just adds recording functionality, but is not necessary for NFLST

You just need any interactive capable receiver. I believe any D10 SD receiver or later as is the HR20. I think the H20 is getting an update to make it interactive but you should ask that question specifically to be sure.

But honestly, no reason to get a non-DVR, get the HR20 so you can record stuff. ;)

sorry my bad - i thought the H20 was interactive.

If you don't mind the extra cost the DVR would be the better way to go as you'll get the live buffer and slow-motion options.

I lived in a house before with HD DirecTivo so I'm well aware of all the benefits of a DVR and I'd love one but I just wanted clarification

If you do get an H20 and it's not interactive after the first update you get (installer should update it) then you can hop on the CE program and get the latest CE which will have interactive in it. The CE program is basically a public beta test of new features and fixes but does come with risk. See the CE forum for details.

The HR20 is interactive out of the box.
