I believe that the latest software is quite good and am reasonably confident going into the fall TV season that the HR20 is going to finally work well.

I recently replaced my HR10 with a new cool black HR20-100 for my main TV and have a semi-major request for the D* remotes. After watching my beloved Dolphin football game last night and trying to decide exactly how bad the offensive line will be I found myself cursing the current slow motion on the remote. I believe it really needs a dedicated button (like Tivo) as the current hold the play button down for X seconds is a pain. Especially for watching offensive line whiffs or trampoline jumping on Get Out or anything that might need some extra attention.

I guess I could just get another remote but have yet to find one that I like. Have tried at least 4 different Harmonys (don't like the button spacing at all). Other remotes with no key labeling won't muster WAF and touchscreen types are cumbersome at best.

I vote for a new D* remote, I'd even shell out extra for a "premium" upgrade. There are other button changes that would be nice but my middle aged brain doesn't recall them at present.

Welcome to the "We-Hate-All-Press-and-Hold-Functions" club.

Your issue with slo-mo is a very common complaint, along with the press-and-hold skip-to-tick, and skip-to-end functions.

So, while there is no known resolution to these issues on the horizon (that I know of), you can at least take some comfort in the fact that you are not alone.

Down with press-and-hold!
