I am getting my service on Thursday. I have 4 regular receivers, one HD Receiver, and I just bought a DVR Receiver.
Now, how many shows can I tape at once with the DVR Receiver? How much storage does it have?

With two SAT lines connected you can record two shows or record one and watch one at the same time. Also if you are recording two shows you can watch a show that you already have recorded.
As far as hard drive space goes what DVR do you have?

You can record one show from each tuner simultaneously, assuming you have two dedicated lines from the dish connected and have run guided setup to specify two lines are connected.
The capacity depends on what model DVR you have (they come with different size hard drives). Since I'm not a mind reader you'll have to provide a bit more information.

Did you get (or really, are you getting) the R15 (Standard Definition) or the HR20 (High Definition)? As others have mentioned, the model will be the deciding factor in how much capacity it has.

The R10 is a TiVo based unit that has been out of production for some time. Are you sure?

The R10 will record ~100 hours of SD.

The system information screen will tell you how much recording capacity you have.

Some thoughts:
The R10 will have about 70 hours of recording capacitiy:

Also, since this is a TIVO unit you will need to have a phone line connected to activate the TIVO service and initiate any software upgrades.
Since you did not say where you purchased it, if it is a used unit you will have to replace the access card at a cost of $20 through D*. Sometimes this is missed by CSRs, but I wouldn't count on it.
Also make sure that after it is activated on your account it shows as an owned receiver not a leased.
Good luck to you:)
