Dish PVR721 & Local Cable or OTA

I am interested in purchasing a Dish PVR 721 or 508. Do either of these have the capability of recording local channels that I receive from my local cable or Over The Air (OTA)? If so can I still watch or record a Satellite channel at the same time?

Unfortunately, I don't believe any of the DISH PVRs have this feature. I think you'd have to use a standalone unit that has A/V input capabilities.

There are no integrated satellite PVR's offered by either provider that will do OTA recording. This is because they capture the stream digitally off the satellite, and do not include video capture or encoding hardware as standalone (TiVo, replay, showstopper) DVR's have. I believe the DISH 921 may have OTA HDTV record capability but that's not going to be released until the end of next year.
