Available now until Sunday at Midnight. Everything is free!
Channel 110.
I think you need a D10/D11/D12 or HR20-700 to play.
Cool.

Hopefully the H20-100 will beable to do it after the CE-release tonight. No word on that though.
I suppose one needs a connected phone line to use this.
No. You don't need a connected phone line. Cool.

The phone line is only needed if you want to order from the receiver or create a profile (gamertag) to play for tokens or cash.
I just created a profile and got 250 free tokens...

Nope, no go here. It's kinda funny tho because one of the changes in the 100's CE release was for game lounge. Kinda hard to test it, when gamelounge itself doesn't work yet
Thanks for the heads up. I'm playing UNO. Talk about snails pace. LOL

I will never do this again. Snails pace is unacceptable.

Very slow downloading of games and very slow play. Graphics are lame. How much will they eventually charge to use Game Lounge?
And...where are the actual game sound effects. Just muisc is playing constantly in the background.
What is "cash" play--the screen says "play in competitive mode against other players to win cash"//"please sign in with a profile having a cash balance to play". So I guess DirecTV is now a gambling site?

I don't know that D* could be considered a gambling site if it is games of skill played against others and not casino-type cambling games. I certainly wouldn't be playing anything on there for cash if the speeds, etc. are what people are saying they are. Unless it's a game that has absolutely no dependence on speeds. Then again, I can't see myself playing UNO for money or anything like that, either. I've got better things to do with my money.

wow...I was looking forward to trying a few games. It didn't take long before the loading time and music put me to sleep! The good news is, I almost subscribed the other day...now I can find another use for my $5.99/mo.

Lame. I can't see how anyone would actually pay to play any of those.

Excuse me but I have a subscription to Game Lounge...To each their own but I do not find it lame.

I agree, the whole thing is way too slow. I won't even play for free, let alone pay for this service.

I am curious about the speed...are things running slower because of the extra traffic this weekend?

Well I know what I'm doing tonight.

I think the point of the service is that you can play top casual games on your receiver and on your tv with just the remote. You do not need a console to play games.
I could not find the same level of games online that were free, after an hour they wanted to charge me $20 to play...
Some games do load a tad slow, but have you noticed when you replay the load time is a few seconds...faster than most console games.
So if you are looking for a Xbox or PS2 type entertainment this service is not for you. If you want cell phone or online like gameplay, I think this service delivers.

+1
The Texas Hold 'em is very fun to play. I've been a cheapskate and just play the three round demo. I'd rather buy the game for my cell phone as most of the other games don't interest me.

I thought I'd give it a fair test. There's 60 minutes of my life I'll never get back! :(
If I wanted to play games like that, I'd play on my computer. I play hold 'em on line - many free sites. Free Cell, Sudoku - play on the PC for free.
For those that will use it, I'm glad it's there. For me? It's like The Baby Channel - something else I don't have to worry about paying for because I'll never tune to it.

The games are downloaded via satellite. It makes no difference how many people are using them.
