View Full Version : PVR 721 time off by 5 hours??

Does anybody else have the problem of their 721 seeming to be stuck on GMT? The tech they put on when I called assured me that many other people were having this problem. I'm getting tired of counting on my fingers!

Also, I give up (and I haven't RTFM yet) but what are the two large keys on the remote for? (The one with the Dish light show, and its neighbor in red, that seems to indicate a signal going through the air). TYIA!

Try a reboot, may help, hold power button in for 15 seconds,
wait till validating finishes, hope this helps.

Thank you, but no- when I first brought it up, they patched me through to 'engineering' (you know, the guy in the office who knows how to change toner in the laser printer when it gets all 'blurry' <g>.)
She said they were aware of it, there was a lot of it that started with latest SW release, and had no idea how to fix it. How in hell can their system be so out of control they cannot keep the time correct? I dunno, cell phones are controlled by hex strings typed into a mainframe emulator, thence to the switch, I can't imagine this is a lot more complicated but I guess it is.

The Dish button will be for Dish home when OpenTV is available, and I believe the other will be for internet access when it is available.

Thank you, that backlit red key is pretty classy as it fades out, if only it did something! Also, what kind of signal strength is expected/acceptable/required for good reception? I've been at 93/100 most of the time, and it's in the mid-eighties as it begins to snow here. We are near to the farthest north reach of the system, and I was worried, but I don't think it will be a problem..
