I turned on my TV today and discovered I had no locals. Since it was the TiVo box, I wondered if it was related to the new software download, but upon checking the HR20 downstairs, I had similar loss of signal. Checking the 119 satellite signals, transponders 22-32, this is what I got:

93, 0, 93, 0, 92, 93, 89, 0, 92, 0, 94.

So I had 0 on transponders 23, 25, 29, and 31. Upon returning from the satellite test, I discovered pixelation followed by restoration of the locals. Checking the signal strengths again, I was still getting weaker signals on the affected transponders: in the 70's on 23, the 60's on 25 and 29, and an amazing tuner disparity on 31: mid-40's to low-50's on tuner 1 and high-60's to mid-70's on tuner 2.

I don't get it. We've had no storms and no wind recently, and right now it's sunny, hot, and humid. It's not an odd-even issue because transponder 27 was unaffected. Could some electromagnetic disturbance in outer space or sunspot activity be the culprit? Could this have happened many times, and I just never noticed? I also don't get the tuner disparity on 31; clearly, both tuners are functioning because the strengths are roughly equivalent on all the other transponders.

If anyone else has had this happen to them and has an explanation, please let me know. I post later with an update if anything changes.

All signal strengths have now returned to normal. However, there remains this tuner strength disparity on satellite 119, transponder 31: I got 82 on tuner 1 and 95 on tuner 2. This disparity has probably been there all along, and I never noticed it before. It's the only transponder on 119 that has this tuner disparity.
