Anyone ever get a Dish Network remote to control at least the volume of an RCA bookshelf stereo? I usually have the Dish audio going thru it rather than the TV (which sounds like a 1890s gramaphone record), and would like to have my remote do it all.
Thanks :)
Good idea. I have an RCA "HT-in-a-Box" about ready to be put in service. I'll dig out my code sheets to see if E* lists a DP code for any RCA/GE/Thompson audio gear.
I recall a site that has almost all RC codes listed - something like remotecentral.com (?)
This brings another thought to mind. Hey, 2 in one day!! ;) I've been wondering -- generally speaking, are IR codes specific to the a/v component, i.e., TV, a/v receiver, DVD, VCR, or specific to the particular remote, or a combination of both.
Inquiring minds want to know.

I think (but don't quote me on that) that the codes are specific to manufacturer.
