Since my (Echostar) 3900 got an upgrade to P144 recently, I have noticed a bug with a certain sequence of the channel up/down buttons. If you press down,up,down the receiver will skip a channel on the 2nd down. So I can make receiver go from 144 to 143 to 144 to 142, skipping 143 the 2nd time. This bug also bypasses the normal skipping of unsubscribed channels, which means I can go (with AT100) from 426 (my only RSN) to 405 to 426 to 401 which gives me a "no subscription" screen. This bug also bypasses the new Dish Home confirmation screen if you go from 103 to 101 to 103 to 100 and go straight into Dish Home. The weirdest part is when the channel that gets skipped is the lowest channel on the system (since I have locals, it's channel 4). If I start on the 2nd lowest channel, I can go from 5 to 4 to 5 to a random channel like 8620 or 341 or 169 or 124 or whatever bits fell into the receiver's memory when it last booted. This is a strange and occasionally annoying bug, and I'm curious if any other 3900 owners can duplicate this. Just press channel down,up,down in that order and it just might skip a channel.
BTW I did send an e-mail to E* about this.
