The AP has announced that Acer of Taiwan will purchase Gateway, making it larger than Lenovo.

If I recall, it wasn't too many years ago that Acer itself was on the ropes, pretty much retreating from the U.S. market.

We know Acer here as WNC or Wistron Neweb Corporation, They make Plase III and KA/KU 5 lnb dishes.

I never liked Acer PC's. They have always been cutrate and so so.

I picked up a Gateway 832GM MCE 2005 PC almost a year and half ago and I'm quite happy with it. The Acer 17" LCD monitor I picked up around the same time had to have the PS swapped out while still under warranty. I'm not that enthusiastic about this acquisition.
