Hi first post although I have learned a lot thru the years from this site.
I have a new HDTV and am considering upgrading to the HR20 and the HD package. Presently I have two R10s and I guess I am grandfather in with the original total choice. I'm thinking of droping one R10 and adding one HR20.
I currently pay:
T Choice- 47.99
DTV DVR fee- 5.99
Add Reciver-4.99
1. If I up grade will this change my grandfather status with tc, channels and price?
2. Will I now have to pay a lease fee?
3. Will My only change be the $10 for the HD package?

I know I will have to workout a deal on the new equipment and it sounds like others are having good luck with DTV currently getting a HR20 for $20 s&h plus some credits. Thanks for any help. The lease fee and grandfather stuff is confusing.

Answers to your questions:
1. it shouldn't change your status. That is what I did.
2. You get one reciever for "free" with your basic package (TC in your case), plus you pay $4.99 for each additional--it used to be called an "add reciever fee" and now it s a "lease fee". Same thing, different name.
3. It should be your only increase

You will be hard pressed to get the HR20 for just $19.99 s&h. You can easily get it for $199 ($100 off). I am not saying it is impossible, but don't be too shocked if you don't
