It is that time again!
We have had L4.41/L4.42 for a few days so I Figured It is time for the poll. Same poll as before so be sure to pipe in. If you feel you have not had time to fully assess L4.41/L4.42, please take your time and vote when you feel comfortable with your opinion of L4.41/L4.42. I know a lot of people have not gotten L4.41/L4.42, just vote when you have received the update and you have formed an opinion.
This poll actually is two polls in one.
Poll 1 (How is your 622/722 behaving after getting L4.41/L4.42?)
Pick one of the First three choices to indicate how your 622/722 is behaving after you received the update.
Poll 2 (How is your 622/722 behaving compared to previous version?)
Pick one of the 2nd group of choices to indicate how your 622/722 is behaving after you received the update.
Couple of Tips:
Be sure to vote in all both polls if applicable. If you vote problem ridden, feel free to indicate why you voted that way (Remember we are in the support forum ). Same goes with why you voted it was a step back. If you are using external USB support, take that into consideration on your overall opinion. I plan on posting a USB experience poll in the next few days so this one is based on your overall impression of this software release.

My main complaint pre-4.41 was the problem with pause, ff, rw. I had kept in touch with the dish quality folks about this and they asked me to let them know how it was working after the new software downloaded. I let them know that it was back to working again, expecting no response. Instead I got an e-mail saying they were happy they had gotten it to work again prior to football season starting - definitely a 'real-person' non-canned e-mail! My original e-mail to them had stated that this would be a problem if it continued once football started! This was a good customer service experience!:righton:

Trick play is improved, but not quite there, and not how it used to be. Last night I spent over 3 minutes trying to get to a frame in a show recorded on Universal HD. Both frame advance and slo-mo jumped over it even if I rewound to a different point. The improvement is that I never found myself more than a minute from where I expected to be.

For the ways that I use my 622s, there really hasn't been any change. They both are working fine. Other than some of the new features that I like, I wouldn't say that it has improved how they work for me.
Of course, the next step will be to get a USB HD. Then the story might change.

So far, for us, it's much improved, but then we haven't started watching football yet so it may still have some problems we haven't seen. At least we can come out of pause and not have it advance forward. Worked ok during the Little League World Series!

Works better for me. Improvement was the Trick play functions are back to previous.
USB2 EHD works fine for me. Only bug is they need to set a wait time to allow the drive to spin back up after it goes to sleep and change the error message saying that ehd needs to be enabled.
External always works if I hit cancel on the error message and then reselect manage or send to ehd.
I figured that out the first time it happened and the easy workaround.
Overall nice version. I love the EHD feature and went running out that wednesday to buy drives and sub for it. Now I have room to sample all of the upcoming fall TV season on my internal drive again.
Note, Still on the original VIP622 I got 1 year ago. Never any major problems. Much less teething problems then the 501s when I first got them. OTOH I never had problems like many other with teh 7100 dishplayers or the 721 either. Maybe due to the UPS they have all been hooked up to?

For me, trick play has improved since 415, but I haven't had any software before 415 to compare. 415 was very clunky.

L4.41 has been great for us in that it brought back closed captioning to all the HD channels that provide CC. Oh, the exception is ESPNHD which is still not captioned. The captioning on this channel disappeared about two months ago. CC on ESPN2HD is fine. Go figure.

My 622 has started freezing the picture for a few seconds, several times an hour during playback. Sound and CC proceed normally. It's very irritating.
