Help with hr20 and buffalo g125 hardwired

Hi, im new to this site------Love it.
I have been tryig to get my hr20 to pass the internet test without any luck it passes the network test without problem no matter what ip i enter. i restore it to defaults and it give a strange ip. can anyone help a newbie out? the hr20 is hooked up with a ethernet cable straight to the buffalo g125 router. i have used the cable to access xbox live with no problems. what am i missing?

If you have an HR20-100 it has two internet ports - only the top one (number 1 I believe it is labeled) will work.
If you confirmed with a game or a computer that cable connection works, then this is the most likely problem.
