After the new HD channels come in, in Sept., since they have all the regional sports networks, and since those channels originate the HD broadcasts of the baseball games locally, if one has purchased EI and/or SuperFan will there be more HD games then? I know up in Boston NESD has all Redsox games in HD, but EI shows most of their games in SD. After the new channels come in will those games be in HD if you are a subscriber?

thanks!

We don't know. They may continue doing Extra Innings the way they have been doing it the entire season and have more HD games starting next year or they could start giving us more games the moment the CONUS HD RSNs light up. The CONUS HD RSNs might not even start until October with only National HD channels at first. (I have no evidence to back this up just that more people would be happy getting new channels everyone can see than new channels fewer people can see.) We just don't know. Just be patient. It will only be a few more weeks until we will find out.

My guess is at the least we'll have more games in HD because they don't blackout the RSN they are using for the EI broadcast. For example, if they are using the YES feed for a Yankees EI broadcast, but the Yankee game is not on 730 or 731, then I'm thinking we should be able to see it in HD by tuning in the CONUS feed of YES HD. This assumes you sign up for the sports pkg as well as MLBEI.

D* mentioned in an earlier press release that (for next season) definitely they will carry ALL HD games, if available. Now don't expect ALL games in HD (look at NFL ST, they don't even carry all of their games in HD) as there are far too many games. I expect some smaller markets to lag too or just certain games due to changed scheduled start times or make-up games etc. . .

We can only hope.
