Loss of DVR Functions

I've had my HR20-100 for a little more than 1 week. About 1 in 10 times that I power on, I don't have any DVR functions; can't pause, rewind, etc. When I try to play something from my List, it immediately asks me if I want to delete the program. A soft reboot always corrects the problem but obviously I don't want to do this if something is recording. Any suggestions? BTW, I have had two partial recordings of less than 1 minute each (Bones and My Name is Earl).

I would suggest, if this keeps up, try doing a reset recorder. If you still have issues, you may need to get DTV to send you another box. I have not yet seen the loss of DVR functions as an issue in any of these threads, which leads me to believe there may be something, other than software, wrong with your HR20.

I had the same problem with a -100. Even a 'reset everything' didn't help. D* replaced the DVR with a -700. It failed in less than 24 hours. Another is on the way, due Thursday. I hope threes a charm.

Thanks. I might just start leaving the box on and see if I have the same trouble. I'm more worried about getting another box that has more problems.

Just had exactly the same thing happen to my HR20-100. Recorder reset got it back to normal. If it continues, will ask DTV for a replacement. Its only a couple weeks old.

If you reset and the problem persists, call for a replacement.

same thing here. fix #1 was a format of the hd. fix #2 was a sending of another unit. we'll see how that goes should be here, next week.
