VOD

Wll the R15 ever be able to use VOD or will it only be for the HR20. If not why are the going to limit who can use this feature. I have 2 R15's and will soon have a second HR20 and would like to be able to network all of them.

Never say never, but the R15 lacks the network support required for VOD. It's fair to say that HR20 is the only receiver that has everything it takes.

No one knows what the future brings, but for now, if you want VOD, you want an HR20.

We'll probably see an R15 successor with the ability to use VOD by next year (however I have no knowledge)

There was talk when VOD plans were first announced by D* of a two-tier VOD system. The most popular content would be available via SAT while older titles would require a network connection. In that scenario, the R-15 could receive the SAT based VOD.

Does anyone on the "inside" know if this is still in the works or has it gone the way of DirectDate? :lol:
