DirecTV™ just called me about B-Band Converters

I just got a call from DirecTV™ and they had me put my HD receivers on channel 499 to make sure my B-Band Converters were properly installed. (You will see searching for sat signal if they are).

She said they just wanted to be sure that I was ready for the new HD channels coming at the end of September.

Any one else get this call? My call was about 5:30 EST today.

I got the same call about a week and a half ago. The guy said "sometime in September" was all he could say.

They have been calling, emailing and snail mailing everyone for months. I know I have gotten at least 3 phone calls on it.

The three I got were recodings also. No live phone calls. Being it was D* I listened to the first one and after that I just deleted them, knowing it was the same thing.

I'm quite impressed that between the online notices, the e-mails, the channel 77 and 92 notices, the mailers, and the direct phone calls.....D*TV is surely making a pretty major effort to let people know what's up with the new channels and equipment requirements.

I guess this is a proactive effort to reduce questions/calls later.

I feel left out. No phone calls for me and I have three of the things. :(

Then again, I installed them, they have BBCs, I have backup BBCs and backup backup BBCs. :D

They called me yesterday. My BBCs were working on my HR20-100 but not on my -700. Sending 2 replacements.

Does all MPeg4 use the BBC? My HD locals work fine on both receivers but the -700 definitely says on channel 499 that the BBCs are not working. Even swapped one out from an unused H20 with no change.
