So, i haven't bought ESPN game plan on DTV since I switched over from Comcast last year.
Can you not buy a single weekend anymore? Makes no sense for me to buy the whole year's worth but it's the only place my game will be on this weekend.
Is there some backroom code that allows me to order just this weekend?:D
If anyone knows, i'd be grateful.
Thanks.

It's called Pay Per Day... I can't recall if you can order it by remote or if you have to call. I'm also not sure if it can be ordered online.

We bought Gameplan this year - but last year you could do the pay per day for $20. It was like a standard PPV - tied to the receiver its ordered on. Tune to the first Gameplan channel, day-of (within 1/2 hr) of the first showing and you should be able to order with remote.
You can also order by phone, with standard "convenience" charges. Not sure about internet.
FYI: We did notice that it was spotty on the ordering - you had to fight the right channel and the right timeframe to order it. You'll see a different description and when you go to that channel you'll recieve the order window.

Was the OP referring to the old trick of ordering (subscribing to) premium programming for a day or two, and then canceling a day or two later, paying only a pro-rated amount of the monthly fee? I beleive they made that less attractive a couple of years ago when they instituted a downgrade change fee of some sort.

Was referring to just ordering one day's worth of programming for this specific Saturday. I'm pretty sure Florida will be on TV for every other game except for another cupcake at the end of the season, so I see no reason to pay for a whole season of gameplan.
But i had a friend call dtv this past weekend about ordering and he was told he needed to buy the whole season, so i'm just confused.

Actually we bought Gameplan specifically for the Gators.
We counted a certain 5 games (potential 6) that will NOT be televised. At $20/day it made sense to buy the early season plan for $109. That way we get games every weekend, PLUS all Gator games. And we'd be only short $10 if they are only on for 5, and ahead $10 if they are on for 6.
If you check CBS you can see the coverage plans. We also checked game times and schedule for expectation of wether ESPN will pick up (like South Carolina - its likely ESPN sunday night will pick it up because they love the Ball Coach).

I canceled this year after two years of not getting access to my team even with the package .. Internet Radio might be my only hope (or morning newspaper). Sucks to have a team that's not doing so well

Yep, sports subscriptions such as ESPN Gameplan can not be canceled, transferred, credited or refunded once the season starts.

I ordered it online last week for the Alabama game. Just use the program guide on the D*tv site and find the game. Click the link to order and you will get Gameplane for one day. It was $21.95 I believe.

If a game is on Gameplan, will it be blocked on all RSN's? Altitude is showing the Hawaii-Louisiana Tech game as well. Neither of those teams are on the Rocky mountain region though.
