Anybody know if the future plans are to include espnu in HD. Maybe not full time but at least for the college football games!

I have not heard of any announcements of ESPN releasing and ESPNU-HD

ESPN News-HD yes, but not ESPNU

As far as I know....I don't even think Disney has ESPNU available as an HD alternative. I believe it is SD only.

I'd be very surprised if this happened anytime soon as I don't think ESPNU shoots anything in HD. I think all their equipment is of the SD variety.

Is that possible with all the disney espn conenection thing going on here. I would have to believe all of espn is shot in HD, But maybe not. Any chance of classic going HD and upconverting some of the old stuff to HD! I think that would be cool.

IMHO... they would probably be the last ones to convert to HD.

You will probably see Deportes and U in HD before classic.

Since ESPNU was primarily designed to give smaller schools and conferences as well as some of the other non-mainstream collegiate sports more exposure, they didn't really envision it as being as widely viewed as their big 2. ESPNewsHD is scheduled to launch the beginning of 2008 if I remember right. I would think that Classic would stand a better chance of becoming HD before ESPNU only because more and more of the programming that might be shown on Classic had been shot in HD and could therefore be rebroadcasted as HD. Like their "Instant Classics" and Classic does show some occasional "Live" content. But that's just a guess.
