But the customer retension person said I can keep the HR10-250s. Yet the word "swap" sort of worries me.

Is the installer going to want to take away the my HR10-250s? I own all three of my HR10-205s. They are not leased.

Anybody have this on their order? Or has anybody had the installer demand the HR10-250s back?

I wouldn't give anything to the installer. As an ex installer myself I know that they won't send them back to D*. The swap on the workorder means that they will not have to run any new cable lines to the location of your existing dvrs. If by any chance your dvrs only have one cable then have the installer add--dvr second line to the work order so you can have the full functionality of them. They can do that and do not have to return at a later time. If D* wants your recievers back they will send you boxes and a return label, but even then I would call and tell them that you don't want to send them back, they are owned. You will most likely not be able to get the installer to relocate them though.

Thanks. I would actually prefer that the installer do nothing with the new or old boxes. He can take one out, test it in my wiring closet, and then leave them for me to install in their proper locations. Hopefully I will be able to talk him into doing that. I only need him to do the dish, the multiswitch, and test to make sure it works. I can handle the rest. I hope the installer it open to that.

Breath, relax, have a drink.

Swap Replace = Disconnect & Deactivate the existing receiver. The receiver does not get moved to a new location. New receiver is installed in current location.
Swap Relocate = Disconnect the exiting receiver and install it somewhere else in you home. An additional installation charge may be added.

Just following up. My order says replace as well, just want to make sure they aren't going to try to take my existing owned equipment.

Mine says "Standard Professional Install" and "Swap New DVR IRD" on each of two orders for HR20's. I have two orders - one for a new HR20 and one to replace an old Sony HD non-DVR receiver. I want to keep the HR10 and have them add two new runs approximately 20 feet from a new multiswitch to my family room (including a very easy 3 foot wire fish from an unfinished basement).

Will they be willing to do what I want?
1. Install HR20 in place of old receiver upstairs (two runs already in place)
2. Let me keep my HR10 in family room
3. Install new HR20 with multiswitch and two new short runs to family room.

Oh, and they have to replace my 3LNB with a 5LNB.
