21hawk,
Thanks for the link. It is an interesting commentary. What's not counted in the "totals" is the number of folks who may not be DIRECTV subscribers if NFLST were not available. While there are many factors that keep me a loyal DIRECTV customer, NFLST is a big draw. It may be the only draw for some people, so they would not just be losing the $269/yr from that person, but the $900/yr in standard programming fees.

I doubt I would have signed up if not for the NFL Ticket, B10 network, and NFL Network that I can't get from Charter.

NFL St customer here since 96 yes it does keep me as a customer but if the price keeps going up it may not I am at the point of saying screw it but each year I do it all over again and the SF charge has got o go not that I have ever had to pay for it but it is just wrong.
Nice read.
I switched to D* for one reason - NFL ST. It the ST goes to Dish Network, Comcast, Time Warner Cable or Fast Freddie's Bait Shop and Cable TV Emporium, I will go with it.
But, I agree with Steve Robertson: If the price keeps increasing, I may have to say "adios" and do without.
1995 Public Viewing for Sunday Ticket from DIRECTV in a sports bar was based on fire code occupancy
0-50 $399
51-100 $699
101-200 $1299
201-500 $1899
501-1000 $3499
Could you imagine how much it would cost now. This is where DIRECTV make a lot of its money.

Sunday Ticket was one of the main reasons I switched to DirecTV 5 years ago. But this year I said forget it. Even with a new HD TV for the football season for the first time it's just too much money.
