Great news for desi subscribers.....direct tv added MTV India (channel 2006) in the Hindi Direct & Hindi Direct II package lineup.

Great channel.......specially compared to the MTV Desi (which sucked big time).

I am happy this channel is here. MTVDesi was really bad but this is one is called MTV India I think It is coming right from India

Yes it is. It is broadcasting the exact same programming, as it broadcasts in India.

Thats why I was watching "Kickass Morning" at 10:00 PM EST.

I started watching this from yesterday...Awesome channel..probably the best hindi music channel.

If Directv adds STAR GOLD in the near future...it will definetly give E* a run for its money in the south asia segment.

Any new south asian channels in the offing?

First, I don't understand why Zee etc sign exclusive contracts. Thats very stupid.

Anyway, D* can still get many channels if they want - in almost all the languages. But until they do that - I'll have to just stick with E*.

I thought they said soon when star gold started broadcasting in UK on BSKYB

so i expect it probably in early 2008.

lot of licensing deals need to be addressed for telecasting hindi movies in the US.

The "sound" levels on NDTV channel 2007 have dropped down a lot in the last 2 days...

Is it only for me or has somebody else also have noticed this?

I don't think that's a channel I'd watch a lot but it might be interesting.
