Is it possible to split the signal from the HD tuner of the 622 to another TV (and have it in HD)?? I know I will have to watch the same channel on the two TVs it's split to but that's okay. Thanks.

Yes, I have a Gefen HDMI splitter that I use to watch HD on two TVs (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom). Yes, you have to watch the same channel on both TVs.

I appreciate the input. Can you give me a little more info on where to find this device and how to hook it up?? Will the installer have a clue or are they not supposed to do this stuff since the Dish people tell you it's not possible?? Also, I posted a question about changing the channel from another room. What do I need for this to happen??

Here is the most recent discussion on how to operate TV1 via UHF (posts 10 thru 15) http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=96245

The HDMI port and the Component Video port are both live. You can connect one TV to each and enjoy simultaneous HD viewing. Just keep your cable lengths to a minimum, especially the HDMI.

Just do a search for "HDMI Splitter" on the internet and you should get lots of hits. You just connect the HDTV out from the 622/722 to the HDMI In on the splitter. Connect the two TVs to the HDMI outs of the splitter. You can also use a component splitter if you don't want or can't use HDMI.

That's right. You can connect one TV via HDMI and the second TV via component. This way you don't have to get a splitter at all.

If you are only watching HD (TV1) outputs on the receiver (and don't need the SD TV2 coax watching a different channel), you just keep the receiver in Single mode and use the supplied TV2 UHF Pro remote as is to control from a distant room. In single mode, ALL outputs see the same thing and the UHF Pro controlling TV2 also controls TV1 (the HD).
