View Full Version : Freaking out -- no HD signal!

Hi,

My HR-20 froze so I unplugged it & plugged it back in.

I walked away & didn't watch the screen as it rebooted.

Setup state: signal not acquired for 99b & 103a

All other signals strong.

In NY area, 1/2 hour away from my first HD football game.

Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Should I reset with red button?

Update: I now have a gray screen (no video at all), but have audio on NBC NY channel 4 HD.

Anyone else?

Id try another reboot from the menu.

I updated first post:

I now have a gray screen (no video at all), but have audio on NBC NY channel 4 HD.

Question: If I press the red button, do I lose my recorded programs?

(I'm calmer now -- at least I can form words :)

No. But if you are able to access the setup menu, follow it to do a Reset DVR (I think that's the wording). Good luck!

i'm in your area and my local HD channel for nbc (30) is pixelating, all my other channels are totally fine, possible feed problem???

If you ever have to do a reboot, try to do it with the menus. If that doesn't work, then you can use the red button reboot. Try to avoid that if at all possible.

If you have sound but no picture, could the cable from the receiver to your TV be loose? I don't have an idea of your setup, but if the sound is available, the cable for that maybe okay but the video cable is not.

I was having similiar problems last night although my box did not freeze up. I was getting a grey screen with no audio on NBC and Fox randomly. The problem seemed to go away around 9:00 for me.
