I've never rinsed/washed any of my satellite dishes in 10+ years .. It's just a reflector and as long as you're getting signal, there should be nothing to be concerned about. You may want to rinse it if it gets dirty (for you), but there should be no reason as far as the signal goes.

The only story I've heard of that would cause me to wash my dish was that of a rather significant build-up of bird dooty whcih actually affected the signal. Other than that, an environmentally-dirtied dish should be just fine without a wash. :)

I had an installer tell me to spray it with pam to keep the snow from sticking but since it faces south the sun usually melts it pretty fast so have never done that.

I wash mine about once every 3 months and put rainx on it once a month. I don't think it helps the signal at all but I like to be meticulous with all my stuff.

Just kidding. My wife calls me anal all the time, but I've never washed my dish.

Wow, you guys are awesome... now you have me thinking about it! I'm the kind of guy who washes my car in the rain (Seattle area... can't really wait for a nice day in the fall and winter. And spring, for that matter.)

Now I have to start adding washing and Rain-X'ing the dish to my list of chores. :D

Mine's about 40 feet up in the air so it only gets washed when it rains :D

I let the rain/wind/snow take care of keeping ours clean. And I've never had any issues with snow build-up causing signal issues.

Boy, those Rain-X guys are gonna love you guys. I let nature deal with mine and have not had any problems because my dish is dirty. To each their own, I guess.

My boss waxes his cars, then his lawn mower and then waxes the can that the wax comes in. Talk about anal.

after living in Colorado, I know for a fact that pam works to keep the snow from sticking to the dish

Sounds more like he has OCD more than anything else to me. Glad I never worked for a nutcase quite THAT bad, but you have my sympathy.

Seriously, where my dishes are located (yep, am still using the original 2, awaiting the HD launch), I am not about to climb up there and clean (or anything else) them. The original one has been in use for well over 10 years, so am thinking that living in the city has had no effect on mine, although YMMV.

Thank You EVERYONE, for the info and WOW Directv, I decided to do a signal ck yesterday, (heavy downpour, it was raining hard enough it'd make a duck wanna take up swimming lessons let me tell ya)
but even during the heavy downpour didn't expect to get any signal, but BOOM, signal was 91-97.THANK YOU Directv.
