What is SWM, that everyone refers to? I tried to do a search, but came up with nothing defining what it is.

SWM=Single Wire Multi-Switch

Ok, so is that the same thing as this: I just got a new 5LNB Dish at our new house, and the installer also gave us one of these

No...that is a standard 6x8 multi-switch. The 4 outputs from the dish go into the inputs of the switch. It will then give you 8 outputs.
