I have been a long term Dish customer 6 years plus. I have HD equipment and have had one HD set for a few years. I was waiting for HD recording before I upgraded to an HD service. Current I have the EVERYTHING PACKAGE/Locals etc. My current bills has been 120.00 for the past few years.

I called today to see what would be offered. I asked about getting two 722 receivers. Rep tells me no way. Only offer is the standard 722 program and they will give me a 211 as well. I currently own my own 522 receivers.

Is that the best I can get? I would prefer two 722 units or a 72/622 combo. I have never leased any equipment ffrom Dish and have always owned. Also both of my current rec are not hooked to a phone line. Is dish responsible for running to phone jacks-or will I need wireless jacks. I phone have phone jacks right next to these things.

Appreciate any info. I wasnt too happy with the rep I got. Initially she tells me to take one 722 unit. I have an upstairs unit and down. There is no way I am going from two receivers to one. I currently can record on my current equipment. I know the 211 can output to external HD but I am trying to see if I can get 2 (722s) or 722/622.

If they are going to be hardball with me I might consider a switch over to Direct TV. While I may be out of pocket with them on some stuff I can still benefit from their new programs for new customers.

Dish n it up is limited to 3 tuners (the 722 is two as is the 622). The rebates make it almost nothing. Best deal there is. You can always purchase the second 722, sell the 522's to pay for it. Also external hard drive for 211 is not available yet. Installer will probably hook up the phone lines (not hard to do if he doesn't if jack is by unit). If you were waiting for HD recording, why wait for 722 when 622 has been out for last 1 1/2 years and 921 and 942 before that?

Which dish receiver supports recording externally right now. I thought there was one that does this already?

Part of the reason for me waiting on the HD is that I had OTA HD for my locals working nicely and there was not much in the way of HD content via Dish network until lately. If I am starting with new equipment-especially on an upgrade I defintiely want at least one 722 unit. Also dish wanted me to shell out alot for the earlier HD receivers which were not able to record in HD at that time anyway.

RobertIf you want 2 722 or a 722 & 622 you can do what you have done in the past BUY THEM but you will be out of pocket in the $1000 area to own them. You can lease one 722 now then in about 6 months start bugging them about leasing a second 722, you will just have to play by their rules to lease.:)

I called this one didn't I... They're always out there, and they only come out when something new is released.
