I had a problem last night that was very frustrating. Here is the setup:
I was trying to use both tuners to record the following shows:
<Friends><Will and grace 1 hour><Will and grace>
<Survivor for 1 hour>
..................................<20/20 for 1 hour --------->
This should have been no problem except for maybe a little overlap in the timers.
I had timers set for the "normal 1/2 hour will and Grace right after Friends. The PVR would not let me setup a record for the 1 hour Will and grace. It said there was a conflict. I canceled the existing timers and tried again. It set it up but would not let me change the channel "Only done in LIVE mode". I set up the record again, bropugh up PnP and swapped. It still would not let me change channels "Only done in LIVE mode". I was trying to watch Survivor and just gave up on it. Apparently what it was doing was recording the same thing on both tuners! Why the hell would it be doing that?! Someone at DISH need to make this PVR a little smarter. Example:
If I tell the PVR to manually record "Friends" and then try and channel, it should just switch tuners (assuming the other one is not busy) and change the freaking channel!
