SPOT beam or what?

When I got my HR20 last year, I found out that I could not get FSNBA in HD because I live outside the SPOT beam (I'm in northern Nevada). Nevertheless, in July, I started getting Giants HD games on Ch 94 (previously, these games had been "not available"). I thought they might have been doing something in order to get the Barry Bonds record chase out there, but even since he broke the record, I'm still getting FNSBA in HD on 94.

I'm not complaining, mind you, but does anyone know what might be going on?

That's actually a good question and I don't have the answer. I wonder if 94 is on the CONUS beam rather than a spot beam and you're just lucky right now. Perhaps DIRECTV saw your posting and widened the beam slightly :).
