Just wondering if that could be a way to coerce it to not see out-of-market sports channels as an option for autorecord. But I would also want it to try another channel if the one it chose for an autorecord was blocked. For example, I have an autorecord for the keyword Cardinals with category of baseball. I want it to record anything Cardinals on FSNMW but not on FSNNY (or any other FSN besides MW) like it tries to do on occasion. Was thinking if maybe FSNNY was a blocked channel, it would possibly move on to see another viable option for that search. Nothing like coming home, looking forward to watching the game that is halfway over already only to have it recorded on a channel I don't receive.

Until the "Channels I Receive" feature is working properly this will be a problem. Fortunately a fix is supposedly in the works and should roll out to all of the DirecTV Receivers and DVRs soon.

Technically you can record blocked channels anytime you want.

Can you watch them? No.

From what I've been told the Channels I Receive change will not fix the blocked channel problem as they will still be channels "You Receive". This is a real issue for people using Parental Controls and the Adult PPV channels as well as sports fans dealing with blackouts.
