Just got the HR20 a week ago and other than the lack of dual live buffers (had to get that in) find it to be a good unit. When I pause and want to see something frame by frame I was wondering if it was possible to remove the status bar at the bottom of the screen. It often covers up something I'm trying to see. With the old HR10 as soon as you advanced a frame the status bar disappeared.

Just hit the Exit button. :)

I believe the Exit button removes the status bar.

Oooh! An "Exit Button" discussion! ;)

See the link in my signature for a poll and some cautionary discussions about using the Exit button when you're watching a recording in your playlist.

Basically, if you hit Exit at just the wrong moment to clear any on-screen graphics, you will be thrown out of your recording to live TV. (Boo! Hiss!)

One safe way to get rid of the progress bar is to press BLUE twice - first press brings up the min-guide, the second press clears it, and the progress bar is gone.

WOW this is a great tip,:biggthump I have been bitten by the "exit to live" issue when trying to get rid of the banner. Thanks a bunch.

If you exit to Live you can hit the previous button to return to your recording.
