I just returned to DirecTV after ditching Comcast. I used to have DirecTiVos, but now I've got 2 series 2 standalones connected to the H20 DirecTV receivers.
After some consideration and a bit of arguing with TiVo CSRs over their refusal to update the ESPN GamePlan game schedules, I'm considering going with a DirecTV DVR instead for at least one of the TVs.
My new account is barely 10 days old at this point. Would any CSR be able to give me a break on the HD DVR if I explained that this was a new account and I realized that I should have gone with the DVR unit from the start?

I think you might actually have a shot with that 1. But with demand so high, your bargaining chip is quickly disappearing.

Thanks. I'd better get on the horn quick, then.
I love my TiVo, but if they can't or won't keep up with the sports subscriptions schedules, it makes it a little difficult to schedule recordings when my teams aren't on my RSN or other local channels.
(edit)Update: Called D*. First CSR wouldn't budge from a $299 receiver, no matter what. Second one offered $199, same as a brand-new signup, spread out over 3 payments on my bill. The H20 it's replacing will be sent back. The catch is that programming on that receiver has to be turned off immediately.
I'm now waiting on a callback to schedule installation of the new DVR and extra cable from the dish to the house. since it's nearly 11pm EDT here, I expect it to come first thing tomorrow morning.(/edit)
