Just curious if the HR20 comes with cables? HDMI? Component?

Welcome Aboard.

As of the last 6 or 7 months...yes...the HR20 comes w/ power, RCA/Composite, HDMI, Component, and phone cables. No TOSlink/Optic cable or Ethernet.

The HR20-700 I got on Sunday had an HDMI cable, as did the one I got in Dec. 2006. The one I got in Oct. 2006 did not.

If the installer says the cables don't come with it and tries to sell you a cable call DIRECTV and report him.

Just FYI, the component cables that come with the HR-20 aren't very good. I recently upgraded my TV (Samsung HL-T6189s). The HR-20 component cables caused (dim) green and pink horizontal lines on the TV.

I tried better component cables and they worked fine. The HDMI cables supplied with the HR-20 worked fine.

My HR20-700 installed 2 weeks ago had components and HDMI in the box. I don't know that either were real good - I already had an HDMI that I used. If the box is open and cables aren't there tell the installer you want a new machine/box.

when i got my box it came in the box ( but that was after i ordered fromhttp://www.monoprice.com i use that cable now and have had no probs...

I definitely second that, Installers routinely open or take the provided cables and try to sell them to you as an upgrade.

I've even heard of the installers trying to sell people a MONSTER HDMI cable for $100. :rolleyes:

Mine came with all the cables, including 6' HDMI & Component cables, but of course they are too short for my application...

Ordered new ones from Monoprice....

Nighty, I don't know where you are in CA but monoprice is in Rancho Cucamonga and there's no shipping cost if you pick your stuff up.
