Hello,

For market research purposes I need to monitor every local channel in every one of the 210 DMA's across the US. Because of cost restraints, I'd like to have as few "receive sites" as possible. I know I can pick up a lot of local channels from the DirecTV and Dish network spots beams, but that still leaves too many sites to cover. Does anyone here have any ideas on how to pick up more locals in a single area?

Thanks in advance!

You need to "monitor" thousands of channels, and you need to do it on the cheap? Either you need lots and lots of computing power and storage, or you need dozens (hundreds?) of humans to keep track of thousands of screens. Or maybe you mean something else by "monitor"?

The better you tell us what you're trying to do, the better your chances of someone here having a good idea to help. Right now, I can't wrap my mind around this one at all.

Unless you have friends in high places I can't see you getting what you are asking. No normal tv service is going to give you a feed of every local station in the country. DirecTV and Dish don't even have all the DMAs covered. The only Thing I can think of is to put a Slingbox in every DMA but that would cost a lot of money and take a while to set up.

You need to split your office and place half of it in the Dish uplink center and the other half in the DTV uplink center.
