EPG for locals

I have just come back to dish from cable. I get OTA locals and do not sub. to the locals from dish. I have nothing in the EPG for the locals, it just says "Digital Service" with no program information at all. Do I have to sub. to dish locals to get the local EPG populated or do I have something set up wrong?:confused:

ThanksDish only gives EPG info for OTA and satellite locals if you sub to the locals. If you pay for the SD locals, the HD locals from the satellite (where available) are thrown in for free.

I do not believe this is a true statement. I believe as long as you subscribe to locals, and are paying the $6 HD enabling fee, you will get HD locals if Dish has them. It is an "either or" situation... Either the $20 HD Pack or the $6 enabling fee. And of course you must have a ViP receiver.

yes you have to sub to the locals package from dish to get EPG info even though you're not actually getting the channels from them (well you will get the SD stuff but not necessarily the HD stuff from them)

Is there a list of HD locals on E* and what city is next to be added? Interested in when Green Bay, WI will be added and which networks

I feel like such a n00b!! I should have researched the effect of dropping locals from my DISH subscription before calling to have the locals dispatched from my service...

Then again, would it have hurt for the CSR to warn me that dropping local would cost me their support of the EPG for my OTA content? Prolly not...

Shame on me for expecting good customer service...

just for future reference... E*'s CSRs are morons. You could ask 10 of them the same question and get 11 different answers, all of which are wrong.
