The 19th is the date the new packages with their HD channels takes affect. The new channels will start showing up on Friday. IMHO :D

I just called CS today to drop a receiver. The CSR asked about my B-Band converter and when I asked him when the channels would be available he said the 19th.

With the 2nd week of ST upcoming, who knows TNTHD may be remapped/re-activated (i.e. 245-1, 245-2), for the 16th so Ch75 is not taken down for a 2nd straight week. Then the rest of the HiDef channels go online later that week (i.e. 19th).

If it stays an Mpeg2 channel, which I would suspect it would for now, it would still need to be taken down for Sunday Ticket regardless of what channel number it is mapped to.

I had predicted the 12th in another thread, so right now I'm up against the clock.
No movement in D10 in quite a while, and the TECH thread can't seem to get any new data indicating activity.
the way D* goes we will be lucky to see something by Thanksgiving.. and thats not just sour grapes but 5 years of dealing with D*..
like the guy who used to post once a month, "when will we see new channels?", well don't hold your breath, because D* isn't exactly moving at the speed of smell..

When you see 362 Weather Channel in HD you have confirmed new HD channels are being received. They share the same channel number. Similar channels will be subchannels (360-1 after 360) requiring the dash key to direct tune.
Same price $9.99 as now, but premium HD channels will be a free preview until 12/15, then $4.99 afterwards.

I don't doubt that 9/19 is the official launch date, but like many others here I believe they will light up well before then.
I stopped looking all the time. All that does is dissappoint. I want to be pleasantly suprised when they do start to appear.

Well if if doesn't happen today, those choices dwindle to two :). That being said, there are many signs pointing to 9/19 despite the fact that I picked a different day myself.

I voted "other" because we were supposed to have VOD over the summer. I don't believe any projected date from D* until the day after it happens. It will be delayed for some reason or another...

A couple of channels on September 30th at 11:59 PM. The rest on December 31st at 11:59 PM.
Per the speech yesterday:
1 channel on 10/16 (to meet the within 30 days criteria) - Will be HSN
1 additional channel on 12/31 (to meet channelS by year end) - Will be QVC
The rest of the channels will be turned on only after at least 51% of subs have left D* for cable, FIOS, IPTV, E*, OTA, et.al. leaving D* management asking themselves "do you think we started running the 250 channel hype ads too early?" as they file for Chapter 11.
