View Full Version : HR20 Clock Issue
I recently switched from an HR10-250 to the HR20. Overall, I really like the HR20 except for one thing.... It seems to start recording shows about 1 minute late. Never had this issue with the HR10-250---it was always dead on. Anyone else notice this? I'm in the Pacific Time Zone. I suppose I could correct by choosing to start recording 1 minute early but would rather not have to do that. Any ideas?

There have been a number of threads on this issue. For a lot of people it is almost standard to pad each show by having recordings start 1 min early and end 1 min late.
You may want to check something first thought. For some reason when you start playback on the HR20 it doesn't start at the beginning...you need to hit rewind at first and then start play.

I've heard about this for some time. I'm a lucky one I guess, my time's always accurate enough.
Is it on one specific show or pretty much every recording?

Everything...

Yup.... that's it. So now, here's the obvious question..... why in the world wouldn't playback from a recording start from the beginning (the first time you play it)?

Please post if you ever find the obvious answer to that question. Most either pad it by a minute now (and with two tuners and the HR20 is real good about only using a single tuner if you are overlapping two shows on the same channel, there is usually not any conflicts), or just auto rewind after selecting the show.

At times the HR will play a recorded program a few seconds into the show so it may help to rewind a recorded program before playing it.
However, the clock is about a minute behind the actual time and there also seems to be a delay in starting the recording at the scheduled time.
For me this occurs on just about all programs that I record. I get the beginning of a program starting late and generally the first few seconds of the next program. This issue has never been properly addressed by DTV.
