Since I already subscribe to America's Everything Pack, will I get a refund on those free channels?

Nah, you get the extra set for free, also. :)

Why do people think that when something is given out at no charge that they are entitled to an adjustment? Free previews presumably lead to increased subscriptions. They are a marketing thing. Having said that I called and tried to get free Starz.

These ch's are mirrored from 119 for those folks who never upgraded to a DISH 500.

I agree that it's silly to start a free preview with no prior announcement. Many custs will never see it because they use a favorite list or just surf back & forth between a few channels they know.

Actually, if you only have 119 you will not get much out of this Free Preview as the channels are mostly at 110 and they are NOT mirrored on 119. That would cause great pixelation and not sell many subscriptions and might even cause some cancellations of lower packages.

How does this preview impact PQ? Seems Dish PQ has been down the last few days.

I wonder how many that have the Dish 500 actually just subscribe to AT100 ? Since they can get both satellites, probably the majority so subscribe to AT150. On the other hand, very one the the Dish300 customers do not and you'd think that's where they'd concentrate the AT150 offer. More great thinking from the brains at echostar.

John & Allie V,If you have a dish 300, those channel listed just below channel 300 are the free preview on 119. They are mirrors of the channels on 110 that appear in a more logical sequence. To get a spouse to give up the channels that are on 150 is next to impossible. It's a great package!

As a matter of fact - I only subscribe to AT100, HBO, and Raleigh locals - all but a couple HBO's and some PPV's are on 119 - but my 4700 came with the Dish500 (which I DID need when Raleigh locals were on 110). I find it nice to have - you also get some more PI channels that are on 110 only.

I'm looking at the guide now and I have no listings between 272 (GLVSN) and 300 (HBO-E) on my "ALL CHAN" Favorite List on either my 4000 or my 4700>4900.

I too would be intereted to see in numbers how many subs still have a Dish300. There are two houses down the street from me that have only a Dish300. Most others have Dish500s and D*+ ellipticals.

Is Dish still manufacturing Dish 300s? I thought they stopped, but if they did where are they getting all dishes for extra locals from?

Since DISH 300 dishes are used for the side sats I assume they are in production.

It was mentioned either here, DBSForums or AVS a long time ago that the 300s were no longer being manufactured by E*, also the installer that did my Dish500 upgrade 2 1/2 years ago and the guy that did my 501 upgrade over the summer mentioned Dish doesn't make them anymore. But I suppose E* could always pay another company to manufacture the dish and print the Dish Net logo on it.

I know Dish is no longer selling Dish300's as part of a system, except for the 6023 system for HD, which includes the 6000, Dish500 and Dish300.

I have heard that a lot of extra dish installs used the 500 with only one LNBF.

Not!

That's exactly where they end up shooting themselves in the foot. Once you "see what you have been missing" you will realize that the extra $9 a month gets you very little. There are a couple of programs I can't get with AT100 and the occasional movie, but actually the channels added to AT150 are not that hot. Maybe if I was made of money...

It has sold me. Once the preview is over I will upgrade from AT50 to AT150. I would have liked to have had a full preview of all of the AT150 channels but then again, a preview is a preview. Now I'll soon be able to go fishing with Orlando Wilson and my PVR on a regular basis. ATT Cable gets the deep six this month!
