Help with XP registry error!!

I have a piece of software that is not working correctly and their tech support said to uninstall and reinstall it. After doing so numerous times, it has still not worked. After getting frustrated I went into the registry and found this software's keys and noticed that even though I had uninstalled it, those keys were still there so I decided to delete the tree named after the software to possibly cure my problem.

Well, it would not let me delete it. It said, "Cannot delete...: Error deleting key." And I can't rename it either. I beleive this is my problem. Does anyone know how I can remove this key from the registry???? Thanks.

COuld be your registry is corrupted? Might be overkill, but maybe getting your hands on a Norton Utilities type program (certified to run on XP) as they may be able to fix the problems with the registry???
