My HD Access keeps disappearing from my account....thus causing things like ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD to go to "721 - Channel Not Purchased". I put it back on, and next day it's gone again.

Should I worry, or call D* ?

I wouldn't worry. It appears that this has something to do with DIRECTV reconfiguring for the new HD channels.

I assume by "put it back on" you mean you are refreshing your services online at directv.com?

I might give D* a call just so that they have a note in their files concerning your particular situation. That way you don't get hit with the $4.99 fee for the premium HD channels later on.

My parent's account had the HD Access charged to them twice! Had to call to get one removed. I guess it was done automatically after I called to have it added back when the new HD programming was put on their account. Since they got the 721 message on the HD channels. Now the HD is working, but HD Access isn't listed on the programming, but I am not going to worry about it.

Due to some issues with Directv they decided to give me the HD ACCESS service free for three months. Well after the CSR applied this credit to my account, it actually removed my HD ACCESS service. I went online and re-added it.

I called them and had them straighten it all out. When the CSR tried to apply the credit $ for the HD access service it AGAIN removed the HD ACCESS service from my account. No HD channels. So for some reason when they tried to credit my account it was also removing the HD ACCESS service.

In summary - have you recently received or were you suppose to receive a credit for the HD ACCESS service?

Had this happen to me also. The CSR finally just gave up and issued a $10 per month general service credit.

Those are the exact ones i'm having issues with, but mine are channel not purchased...instead of channel not available. I turn back on HD Access those channels come back...the next day it's gone and they're back to channel not purchased. Grrr....

I've been having the same problem since the software download last week. I've called DTV 3 times, they tried everything under the sun to fix, to no avail. I had a service call, all equipment checked out fine, the guy called in to get the HD reset, re-added, still I get "channel not available in your area" or "Channel not purchased" on these channels. I called again yesterday and was right to the point where they were going to send me two new H20 receivers, when my phones were cut off by some moron cutting lines somewhere. I've refreshed many times on my account, everything looks fine on it on Direct TV Dot com. The only thing I can thinks of now is that I have an "expired programming package" that is not offered anymore by DTV. The total choice. I was considering upgrading to the next tier anyway, but I'm thinking upgrading my package might fix this problem with the HD channels on my account being missing. Anyone else have an "expired package"?

CJ... I have total choice package too (the expired one) but my HR20's and HR10's (4 units total) all get those channels so I don't think that's the problem. Sorry can't be of more assistance.

You're right, I talked to DTV again this morning and they tried changing my package to a newer one, and nothing changed, still can't get the HD channels, I guess I won't see the Redskins in HD for Monday night football this week. The CSR said there would be another software download within a couple days that should correct this problem. They also said since it's a known problem, they won't be sending out any new receivers.:mad:

and, yes I've re-booted after having the receiver off through the night, several times, as well as done the sat set up several times, as did the service guy when he came here. I've refreshed several times from the website, and "re-chosen" my current package, as well as had the CSR try upgrading it to a higher package to see if these channels would come in, and and still nothing. I think I've exhausted all ways of getting this to work, short of a software fix, or new receiver. Two CSR's said there are "known issues" in Baltimore and Washington with this software upgrade causing HD channels that are purchased to say not purchased. So who knows whether to believe them or not, I just know I've tried everything I've read here and everything DTV told me to do. But of course I'm still open to more suggestions?

I went through the "chose programming" and re-did all my selections and submitted. About 5min later ch 73 and up reappeared from "not purchased". I noticed that I had recent activity that added removed added and removed hd access, so I wonder whether the site's "your current package" listing is correct in all cases. If you have "Not available" that's a different issue though.

thanks, I went to "change programming" and went with "keep your current package" but in the box for HD Access it's alreaday checked and I can't check it. My account also has a lot of activity where CSR's have removed and re-added programming. So I'm stuck at the moment without HD, or ESPN HD for Monday night football with the Redskins playing here in DC:mad:
