Just had the new dish installed today with a an HR20 and a H20. Couple of issues, maybe someone can help:

1-The HR20 is hooked up to a standard television. I haven't found a new HDTV that I like for the bedroom in my price range. Installer said that he wasn't supposed to hook the HR20 up to a standard TV but since he was so far along, he would go ahead and do it. He said the receiver and/or cables were not maded for standard TV and could go bad at any time. Is this true?

2-On my old RCA HD receiver, I could choose "zoom" on the format button and it would get rid of the black bars on the side of the screen that shows up on some of the standard programming and the ESPNHD. None of the format options will allow me to this on the H20. Anyway to get rid of them? I hate look at a square picture!

3-Not real happy with the placement of the new dish. Top of my roof looks like NASA space station. I will have to post some pics......

4-The finish on the new H20 front is all marred up and has a scratch. I had to pay $99 for that sucker and it doesn't even look new? WTF?? Is it worth complaining about.

Other than that, everything is fine. Some standard programs look worse, while others look crisper. Might all be in my head.....

1 - Cables go bad? Don't listen to CSRs or installers. Some know what they're talking about, but usually not.

2 - Don't know. I never had a Zenith or H20.

3 - You ordered a 30-something inch dish. That's what you got. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but I think you're stuck.

4 - You might have gotten a refurb. Either way, it's a leased box and they won't replace it if it's not broken.

Think of this as a status symbol! Everyone on your block knows you're HD ready!

Well, I finally got my local channels in HD--they are now doubled-up. I don't know if it's because of the new receiver, the new satellite, or just a coincidence. But these black bars on the sides of some of the channels is driving me crazy. It feels like I am watching my old 27" TV, and I haven't been able to find any format where they disappear.
