Yeah, and another CSR says the 16th, and a 3rd says the 19th.. We don't know until they turn them on! Still crossing my fingers for the weekend, however.

It's all rumor and conjecture. There's nothing firm yet, nothing public anyway. Someone somewhere knows.
Why do people put so much faith into the CSR's? Hasn't anyone learned by now that most dates are likely to be very conservative or flat out wrong.

Dudes. My idiot Co-worker just called D** to be a pain in the butt and spoke w/ a csr. Same stated channels go live on the 19th. That seems to be the most popular date they are giving.

Te guy who flips the switch.
As an interesting side note...for unrelated reasons, I had reason to call D*TV on other issues the past 2 days. I spoke to 4 different CSR's over that time, and during the "small talk" waits prior to discussion about the actual reason for my calls, I was told:
1) It will be the 19th by 2 CSR's
2) It will be the 17th by 1 CSR
3) The 4th CSR told me "I have no clue on the final date - we aren't told anything what is absolute until the same day it happens when it comes to new services".
My vote goes to CSR #4. :D
By the way - I just hit my 2000th post (3/4 of which were in 2007). Whoopee. :balloons: :icon_hroc :dance07: :new_smili :icon_band

I know for a fact that it will be somwehre between the 17th and the 19th. Just not sure what month, year, etc.....

Earl said this is the week and I believe him that this will be the week. As long as it is sometime this week Monday Wednesday or Friday makes no difference to me.

I was told the 19th yesterday by a D* CSR.

Quick question on that: Why is grandfathering so great? right now, I pay $9.99 for the HD channels, why would I prefer that to $4.99? There have been so many threads and posts, and my bouts with sobriety so few and far between, I must have missed something.

Because - if the "HD Extra" rumors are correct, it'll be $4.99 on TOP OF the $9.99 "HD Access" fee if you want HDNet, HDNet Movies, Smithsonian Network, etc. (Basically, the HD channels that don't have a SD equivalent).

Well, unfortunately I had to make a call to DTV this morning, as one of our SD tv's went on the blink overnight. I believe it's the buried cable and hopefully not the LNB on the new Slimline.
Anyway, I did ask the CSR before hanging up when the new HD programming would be turned on. Her reply was the 19th....she was very definitive of that date, and she also said it would not be before. So what ever that's worth.

I think they will be on when we see them. I really do not put a lot faith in what the CSR. I can remember calling in back in June 2007 and the CSR told me that I would see CNN in HD in a few days... humm that never happened.
I also was talking to a CSR back early in the year before I got a HR-20 and he was telling me that the " New HR-20 " would be able to communicate 2 way with the satellite using the dish and no telephone. I really do not believe that !
Today has to be the day!

They must be doing that in special sections across the country, or maybe by account numbers. I have not seen that yet on my account, but I have been reading from many people they are seeing that. I just checked my recent activity and it was not there.
Can anyone else confirm that they are seeing this from North Carolina?
My account number starts with 11

If the CSRs get their info this board, I wouldn't be suprised if they would have said according to Earl the new channels will be live _____________ or quote somebody lse if they are searching the forum to troubleshoot a caller's problem.
The 103B satellite has signals for all now except the N/A of course.
I also noticed TNT-HD wasn't shut down for the day for the NFL Sunday ticket bandwidth borrowing.
It's the 17th.
Those new HD channels look AWESOME !!
Oooops, I guess DIRECTV didn't add them yet.
Once again a CSR gave someone bad information.
What a shocker.
